Kohan’s arrival at Hawkez Haven wasn’t without its challenges. Fresh off the track, he stepped off the float unsure of his surroundings, hesitant to trust, and battling a painful case of thrush in his front hoof. But over just five days of care, patience, and quiet reassurance, Kohan began to soften. He realized that this new life — filled with kindness, routine, and gentle hands — wasn’t something to fear.
Now, he’s one of our favorites. His transformation has been remarkable: from wary newcomer to affectionate companion. Kohan offers gentle head cuddles and is always the first to greet you, especially if you’re holding treats. He’s learned that attention is safe, and love is something he can lean into.

Upon arrival, Kohan was treated for a case of thrush in his front hoof. With five days of care and patience, he began to settle in and realize that life at Hawkez Haven wasn’t so scary after all. He’s now thriving — healthy, happy, and ready for the next chapter.

Kohan has recently come off the track and is transitioning beautifully into his new life. Kohan has begun his transition from racehorse to riding partner. His training so far includes:

• Free-jumped 1.2m with ease and scope
• Ridden over 0.5m with impressive form and focus, despite limited saddle time due to weather.
